T'pau burst onto the music scene in 1987 with the hit "Heart & Soul" reaching No. 4 in both the UK & US charts. Taken from the debut album "Bridge Of Spies," it’s innovative use of a rap verse by a white female vocalist introduced the world to the distinctive lead vocals of Carol Decker & the song writing talents of Carol & Ronnie Rogers. "Heart & Soul" led to a meteoric rise in T'pau's fortunes both at home & in the USA, where the track stayed on the US billboard chart for 6 months. After a UK arena tour supporting Bryan Adams, the band immediately toured UK City Halls and Theatres as headliners to tie in with the next single, the classic ballad "China In Your Hand." Nobody could have predicted the enormous impact of "China" which stayed at No. 1 for 5 weeks - the longest serving No. 1 of the year! simultaneously Bridge Of Spies occupied the number1 album slot for 2 weeks The Arena concerts followed. John Adams is a Singer/Songwriter/Busker hailing from Aberdare in the South Wales Valleys. His acoustic approach compliments a unique and impressive vocal ability and his song writing shares innermost thoughts, and purposeful observations.
After John’s debut album, aptly named "The Pavement is My Stage" reached No.7 in the iTunes Singer/Songwriter charts he took a leap of faith and left his job as a Mathematics Teacher. That gamble paid off and John has gone on to support household names such as Take That, Lemar, Stooshe, T’Pau and Katherine Jenkins. His hard work and impressive live performance has gained a strong following of 21,000 twitter followers, 28,000 Facebook fans and over 6 million views on YouTube.
Eager to show his progression John will be releasing his EP “You Never Know Who’s Listening” this year which combines his live organic sound with a minimal electronic production to make a sound that is satisfyingly different from the usual guitar wielding Singer/Songwriter. The first release “Dandelion Wishes” has received over 2 million plays on Spotify promising to be this year’s most talked about viral Spotify hit. This was followed by his latest single “See You Again” that has already been play listed by BBC Radio Wales and become a Radio 2 favourite.
John spends his life on the road busking and performing and is a regular face at the UK’s largest festivals including Sportsbeat Festival, The Isle of Wight Festival, Grillstock, Lechlade Festival, Ponty’s Big Weekend Victorious Festival, lakefest, Wychwood Festival and Glass Butter Beach Festival.
Earlier in his career John appeared on The X Factor singing "Cannonball" by Damien Rice. He reached the last 12 boys and was widely credited for getting "Cannonball" back into the charts. Making chart history as the first time a song had re-entered at a higher position than the original release.
