Police Dog Hogan

Since they made their album debut in 2010, Police Dog Hogan have been building a formidable reputation as one of the country’s finest live bands and folk country acts', said Folk Radio in 2022. They have quickly sold out their last 3 Half Moon annual residences.

After touring their semi accidental album LIGHTNING STRIKE through the winter of 2024/25 and supporting their acclaimed RNLI 200 Christmas single ‘Pull Away’, POLICE DOG HOGAN set to work finishing their new album, THE LIGHT AT THE TOP OF THE STAIRS, which was released in the spring of 2026 and accompanied by an extensive UK tour.

Police Dog Hogan combine guitar, banjo, trumpet, fiddle and accordion with bass and drums to create a driving Americana sound often describes as pop music with all the wrong instruments.

They have become firm festival favourites appearing at dozens of festivals, many repeatedly including Cropredy, Glastonbury, Black Deer, Cornbury, Kendal Calling, Latitude and the Sidmouth Folk Festival.

Line Up

Police Dog Hogan are a high-energy and eclectic eight-piece, combining fiddle, banjo, mandolin, accordion, trumpet, drums and guitars with knockout four-part harmonies in an exuberant fusing of country, pop, folk, and rocking urban bluegrass. The Sunday Times has described them as “wonderful”; the Telegraph named them one of its ‘favourite new bands”; Radio 2 called them “a band to watch” and veteran DJ Johnnie Walker praises their gigs as “just a really good, fun time”.
