Stray are one of Britain’s great unsung rock bands, emerging from London’s late-60s scene with a sound that fused hard rock, psychedelia and melodic songwriting. Known for their powerful live shows and cult-classic albums, the band built a loyal following through relentless touring and a reputation for delivering electrifying performances. Decades on, Stray remain a formidable live act—bringing their signature riffs, rich harmonies and timeless energy back to the stage for a night of classic British rock at its very best.
Line Up
There are very few bands that can boast a pedigree like STRAY
12 Studio Albums, 5 Live Albums (and another due out shortly), 8 Best of / Greatest Hits Albums and countless tracks featured on Various Artist Albums around the world.
Toured the world. Supported Iron Maiden and had them cover your first single. Been the the special guests on both Kiss and Rush’s debut UK tours. Been invited out to Japan just to record a live album by a leading record label. Played just about every major UK festival except Glastonbury.
And still have a dedicated world-wide fan base.
The BBC Encyclopedia of Rock says of Stray’s lead guitaris t Del Bromham “Rock history should be rewritten and Bromham included with the likes of Clapton, Page and Beck”. Indeed in 2001 he was awarded the prestigious ‘Lifetime Achievement Award for Music’ at the Newark Blues Festival.
Now featuring Simon Rinaldo from Pearl Handled Revolver on Keyboards Del leads Karl Randall (drums), Colin Kempster (bass) and long term guitarist Pete Dyer.
STRAY released their latest album on 2024 the appropriately titled ‘About Time’ to critical acclaim. Many fans claim that the present band is best line up that they have heard and the live shows would certainly confirm that.
Not bad for a band whose debut album graced the UK and European Charts in 1970.. .who knew what the world would make of four 16/17 year olds from West London…
