Nearly Jethro is an 'almost man’ knocking on the door of a party he’s not invited to.
Rooted in English folklore, Jethro’s songwriting flirts with baroque pop, obscure rock and tender balladry. Channeling a love for DIY artists like ‘The Cleaners from Venus’ and theatrical, avant-garde singers such as Scott Walker.
Whilst the masses flock to the strobe lights, Jethro croons at a fox in a tunnel. He sings for the doomed and the famous.
*Underdown *
Beginning as a solo piano act across London’s pubs and open mics, underdown has gradually developed into a fierce six-piece outfit, made up of friends old and new, bringing a unique and flamboyant brand of crooning, piano-sax-driven rock n’ roll to London.
The band’s music, self-dubbed ‘Crocodile Rock’, is largely inspired by Rhys’s deep love of 50s rockers like Little Richard and Gene Vincent, coupled with the velvet sound and soul of 70s songsmiths Harry Nilsson, John Cale & Elton John, as well as the lyricism and poetry of the likes of Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen.
