Formed during 2022 in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, The Callbirds deliver a thrilling, high energy show, leaning into riff-heavy tunes whilst weaving timeless pop hooks into unique blends of rock, blues, funk and americana.

Their first album Take Flight took to the skies in June of 2024 after the release of two singles whilst on tour with the Clearwater Creedence Revival earlier that year. Since then, the band has recorded new material between many world class studios including the Sound Factory in Los Angeles. As of 2026, they are now releasing singles off of their upcoming album through summer and autumn, hot off the heels of opening for Boney M and Sophie Ellis-Bextor at the Wychwood festival! Ciarán Singleton is an Irish alternative folk singer-songwriter drawn to the strange, beautiful and often mysterious experience of sharing this world — with each other, with the natural world, and perhaps with something beyond it.

His songwriting began after meeting Luke Concannon, writer of The JCB Song, who left him with a simple idea that has stayed with him ever since: a song can be written from the perspective of almost anything. It opened a door to seeing songwriting differently — as a way of giving voice not only to our own experiences, but to the world around us.

That curiosity became an addiction to the craft while living in Ningbo, China, where Ciarán played in an original rock band and began seriously writing and recording his own material. An EP followed, but life, distance and time have brought a different perspective to the songs he writes today.

Now preparing to release an album this December, Ciarán feels he has arrived at a body of work that represents him more truthfully than anything he has made before. The songs emerged from what felt like moments of pure authenticity — less an attempt to write something, and more an instinct to capture something while it was there.

Moving through beauty, struggle, humour and mystery, his songs explore the threads that connect us — to one another, to nature, to the world beneath our feet and to whatever might exist beyond what we can see.

At its heart, Ciarán’s music comes from a simple impulse: to notice, to feel, and to turn something of that shared experience into song.
