Will Purdue is a British alt-country and Americana singer-songwriter whose rich, smoky vocals and acoustic-led sound draw comparisons to Leonard Cohen, The National and Drive-By Truckers. Having toured with Echo & The Bunnymen and appeared on BBC Radio and major festivals including Celtic Connections and London Blues Fest, his heartfelt songs explore themes of grief, loss and hope through a blend of country, indie folk and alternative rock.

Line Up

Will Purdue is a British Alternative Country-Rock singer-songwriter inspired by the likes of Leonard Cohen, The National, Drive-by Truckers and Damien Dempsey. His sound is characterised by his always-present acoustic guitar and his deep voice, smooth and smoky on his ballads and rocky and poignant on his upbeat songs.

2026 will see the release of his new music, ‘I wish we had more time’, a personal look at grief, loss, and hope for a better future. The songs range from indie folk, to alternative rock, whilst still keeping their core very much in country music.

His previous EP ‘Call My Name’ (released in 2019) features four alt country tracks with confessional lyrics really at the forefront. Using Springsteen’s Nebraska as inspiration, Will stripped right back to the bare bones of acoustic guitar, violin and pedal steel to really let the songs tell their story and for the emotion of the vocals to shine through. It was recorded at the famous Church Studios (U2 / Adele) in London. He has toured with Echo & The Bunnymen, has been featured on BBC Radio across the UK, and performed at festivals include Celtic Connections (Glasgow Concert Hall) and London Blues Fest.
