Van Pletzen is the dynamic duo of renowned South African super-producers Peach Van Pletzen (Groothond, Yesterday’s Pupil, Bittereinder) and Matthieu “NAX” Auriacombe (Hello Beautiful, Beach Party). Since their formation in 2018, Van Pletzen has carved out a distinct space in the South African music scene with their unique blend of feel-good dance music, razor-sharp wit, and satirical twists. With world-class production and infectious humor, they are on a mission to spread “legeh vibes” (their evolution of the word lekker)— leaving audiences feeling elated, transformed, and thoroughly entertained.
Van Pletzen has built a devoted cult following, celebrated for their wild music videos and sharp social media commentary. Their hit single Zaberfluten, featuring icons Schalk Bezuidenhout and Frank Opperman, introduced South Africa to the now-famous terms Zaab and Legeh. They've also collaborated with major names like Dutch artist Joost Klein, Jan Bloukaas, and frequent collaborator EARLY B, who has joined them on multiple tracks and national tours. Their iconic single Jy Bly Stil featuring Jack Parow has garnered over 5.8 million views on YouTube. Their channel has over 23 million views.
The duo’s high-energy performances have made them one of South Africa’s most indemand live acts, headlining top festivals and selling out tours across the country. In 2022, they took their show to the Netherlands, performing at Parowfest in Utrecht and Groningen, and later returned to a sold-out show at The Melkweg in Amsterdam with EARLY B. Their single Kak, maarit naai, featuring Joost Klein, has become a fan favorite both live and on streaming platforms.
In addition to music, Van Pletzen hosts the popular talk show PRAATING, where they embrace “Mengels”—a playful mix of English and Afrikaans. With humor and an interest in breaking language barriers, they bring Dutch and Afrikaans even closer together, creating a cultural bridge.
VAN PLETZEN are currently busy with their fifth studio album which will be release in April 2026.
