The Beyene Affair are a Brighton-based indie soul trio who also blend the smooth inflections of jazz, hip hop, psychedelia and world music. Formed through a tangle of mutual friends and late-night jams, their music is a reflection of their outlook —born not from ambition, but from a genuine love of sound and connection.

Rooted in Brighton’s vibrant and eclectic grassroots scene, The Beyene Affair draw inspiration from the city's coastal energy and alternative spirit. Mike burst onto London’s indie scene after moving to the city in 2007 with Official Secrets Act, later evolving into CITIZENS!. Since then, he’s lent his signature touch to working with Shock Machine, Alpines, Sasami and FRANZ FERDINAND — moving effortlessly between drums, keys and musical direction.

EDISON is his latest project, fusing soulful melodies, rich harmonies and stories of the head and heart with the drive of Hitsville USA.

Mica Bernard (Pron Mee-sha) is an Indie Singer-songwriter whose powerful and warm vocal breathes a soulfulness into her folky sound. Sunny yet stirring her lyrics are honest and invite you into a relatable, witty and heartfelt space. Taking influence from the likes of  KT Tunstall, Lianne la Havas, Joan Armatrading and Florence and the Machine. Mica has a background in delivering therapeutic music sessions to NICU’S (Neonatal Intensive Care Units) and they constantly inspire her to create music that connects people. As a performer Mica exudes a cool calmness that is captivating to watch. "My music is taken to the next level when you see and hear it performed live. I sing about race, love, identity, change and through all of these moments we have in life there is nothing more powerful than connection. This is why as an artist it is my priority to perform live.” Mica released her debut single ‘It’s like’ last November and since then has released two more singles, ‘Tom and Jeriatric’ and ‘Open Spaces’. Her debut EP is on the way and is set for release in April 2026.
