Line Up

Made up of 4 members, The Contenders are an Indie Rock band based in Hertfordshire, whos main aim is to bring more younger audiences out to gigs and let the older generations reconnect with music they once knew whilst also gathering their own fanbase for their own tunes!

Kyle T. Hurley

Starting off with writing poetry and stories in her hometown’s bedroom in France, ALIE knew from a very young age that she wanted to create. She first started a garage-rock trio, made an EP and played several shows with her band including two at the SUPERSONIC in Paris until eventually their collaboration came to an end. ALIE then moved to New York to study cinema, where she wrote and directed two short films. Back in France, she began writing songs again and decided to pursue her career as a solo artist wishing to mix her love for cinema and music. Through catchy and bubbly sounds she reflects on past trauma and her personal experiences with emotional and raw lyrics. Influenced by artists such as Clairo, Phoebe Bridgers and Big thief, she likes to explore different genres and sounds combining elements of pop rock, surf rock and folk. With an EP and two singles out ALIE gained fans all around the world with 40k monthly listeners on Spotify as well as 225k streams on her “Take on me” cover released in February.

Florence Jack is a Scottish independent singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. Her sound is a blend of pop and indie-pop which includes empowering, upbeat, catchy songs to acoustic ballads. Florence’s songs encompass heartfelt, witty and melancholy lyrics, describing her keen observations of everyday life. Florence not only writes all of her own music she also self-produces. Her songs are regularly played on BBC Introducing, BBC Radio Scotland, BBC ALBA and Amazing Radio UK and US.

This year, Florence has performed all over the UK from supporting the Scottish based artist ili at King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut in January to performing at ‘Alessia and Friends’ at Karma Sanctum in Soho, London. Florence has had a sell-out show at Aberdeen Music Hall’s Big Sky Studio and has been a supporting artist for LYRA at The Lemon Tree in Aberdeen. She has performed at several successful music festivals across the UK and Europe including the Appfest in Somerset and in Gloucestershire, and ZugerSEE fest in Switzerland.

Her performances are unique and energetic. Florence is a one woman band whose performances pack the punch of a full band. Her stage craft involves moving through multiple instruments including digital piano, electric acoustic guitar and bass guitar, all accompanied by her own self produced backing tracks.

Florence is currently working towards the release of her 6 track Debut EP which is set to be released in September 2025. It has received funding support from Creative Scotland. She also has a new song collaboration called ‘Rising’ with Charlie Aylesbury and Ian Robert which is gaining traction with over 85,000 Spotify streams in just over two months of it’s release. Florence is set to take the stage at a number of music festivals this year including Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival, Sheb-Fest in Devon and Montrose Music Festival.
