A brand new night celebrating the very best in emerging talent.

Every week for the past eight or so years, we have been running our New Moon discovery nights. These nights offer up-and-coming artists from around the world the chance to perform on our stage and learn their craft whilst also allowing attendees to see undiscovered, raw talent.

We have hand-picked some of our favourite artists to perform to you on a Friday night - allowing as many people as possible to witness how much local talent pass through Grassroots Music Venues.

Line Up

From the hustle and bustle of South London, Bea Maher's musical journey began as a fusion of the vibrant sounds and eclectic cultures that surrounded her. Influenced by the soulful rhythms pulsing through the city and inspired by the storytelling prowess of legendary artists such as Amy Winehouse, Lianne La Havas and Cleo Sol, Bea found her voice in the heart of funk and soul.

Drawing from the raw emotionality, the soulful melodies and the infectious grooves of her Artistic inspirations, Bea forged her own path, crafting a sound that is uniquely her own. With each lyric and chord, Bea offers an envelope of emotion, inviting listeners into a world of love, passion, and introspection.

At the core of Bea's music lies a commitment to authenticity and vulnerability. Her songs serve as windows into her soul, exploring the complexities of human connection with a candidness that is both refreshing and relatable. From the whispers of desire to heart-wrenching heartbreak, Bea's storytelling resonates with audiences on a deeply personal level.

Having studied at the British Institute for Modern Music and honing her craft, It is on the stage where Bea truly comes alive. With a magnetic presence and an infectious likeability, she commands the spotlight, captivating audiences with her soulful voice and dynamic performances. Whether backed by a full band or armed with nothing more than her guitar, Bea's live shows are a testament to the power of music. This is a journey you will want to come along for.

2025 is coming up all Rackets. Having kicked off their Some Things Never Change debut EP project with successful launches of Thursday Bags and Brunette Girl; they are ones to watch over the summer.

The Rackets are an emerging 4-piece Indie Rock band based in South London, formed in 2019. While taking inspiration from the likes of The Libertines, Fontaines DC and The Strokes, they continue to carve out their own space in the indie rock landscape. Combining alternative pop-rock and classic 2000s indie rock, with bursting guitars, off-kilter drumming, and genre-bending instrumentals, The Rackets promise to be a spectacle on the stage.

Matty Long is releasing his long awaited first EP.

The Putney native Singer Songwriter has been gigging around London since the age of 17 and is playing his second home the Half Moon for the launch of his first EP “Ruby Funk”.

Matty will be recording the live set, so audience members will be a little part of history and on Spotify forever. (So please lots of heckling).

“Oasis, John Mayer and Bob Dylan in a blender” - Random Audience Member

Born and raised in London, Katie Vickers started writing music at 15 after her mother was diagnosed with cancer. This refuge of self-exploration and storytelling has remained an integral part of her life, and her love of music has only continued to flourish since then. Growing up listening to Bob Dylan, Dire Straits and Dolly Parton, her music has evolved into a fusion of folk, country, pop and rock, made all the better by her talented guitarists. With a personal hatred of all things technology-related but a genuine passion for creativity, she is taking her next steps into the ever-evolving music industry, releasing a string of new songs with a fresh sound, and navigating the joys and challenges of content-creation along the way.
