A night of new alternative and rock music with the best emerging artists around right now.

Line Up

The Bluepers are a rock originals band from the suburbs of Reading. Born out of a college music course, they combine catchy pop songwriting, bluesy rock licks, and a sense of humour that’s hard to miss once you’ve heard their song about a bunch of Toy Story characters. They’ve garnered acclaim in Berkshire’s local music scene, winning a 2023 Battle of the Bands competition against some of the area’s best new acts.

William Warren is an indie rock singer-songwriter born and bred in the heart of Camden. Combining a crooning vulnerable voice and the energy of an MC owing to his earlier hip-hop roots, Warren’s contemporary anthems are both danceable and gut-wrenching. Songs like ‘Winter Sleep’ and ‘Painter’s Son’ detail emotional pain, struggle, and bravery akin to the romance of The Smiths, all with a back beat not dissimilar from 70s disco and Motown. His rise in the London live music scene is imminent.

Embodying the assertive DIY attitude of punk rockers, but placed in a commercial environment, Ben Kidson moves with the times. His music combines modern pop writing and production elements (think harry styles, taylor swift), with the alternative rock energy and arrangement of his heroes, Nirvana.

in 2022/23, Ben’s energetic live show earnt him a spot as a finalist at the Isle of Wight Festival’s ‘New Blood’ Competition, and at the American Express Gold Unsigned competition. If you’ve used Tiktok recently, you’ll see and hear him on an advert for Amex, which has had over 7 million views to date, and if you use Amazon Prime, you’ve likely seen him in ‘Unsigned’, a documentary about the competition itself.

Ben already has a fan in legendary singer Robert Plant, who signed him to the Wolves Records, and helped him get Radio 1 support on his first single ‘Joking’. He performed on the BBC introducing stage at Boardmasters festival in August, with his performance being chosen as one of the few to be broadcast across BBC Southwest as a highlight of the weekend.

So, you've heard Buddy Holly, you love Wings and you saw John Mayer last year... What's next? Look no further than The Callbirds! Hot on the heels of a nationwide tour and debut album 'Take Flight’, their sound is one you know so well, yet have never heard before.
