China Crisis: Y Stop Now Tour (2025)

For more than four decades now Gary Daly and Eddie Lundon, collectively better known as China Crisis, have been writing and performing some of the most catchy and sophisticated pop songs out there, from “Wishful Thinking”, “Black Man Ray”, and “King in a Catholic Style” to “Christian”, “Arizona Sky” and “Down Here on Earth”.

Their 2024 release China Greatness (featuring elevated, cinematic new arrangements of the songwriters’ own favourite tracks from across their catalogue) peaked in the album charts at record-setting levels for the band, and their recent tours around the globe have served to both build the loyalty of existing fans and entice new legions ardent new followers in the process.

Come join Eddie, Gary and their band in 2025 as they get back on the road again performing chart-toppers that defined a generation to hidden gems that have lingered in the hearts of devoted listeners. It will be another unforgettable China Crisis night of music, laughter, and perhaps a just bit of nostalgia that will leave you answering the question of “Why stop now?” with “Why stop, ever?!

Line Up

China Crisis whose distinctive AOR-fuelled pop songs charted in the 80s when they spent a total of 92 weeks in the charts. Who said the Eighties were all bad? China Crisis, for instance, were largely considered one of the better musical things about that much-maligned decade.

They formed in 1979 in Kirkby on Merseyside, with a core band of vocalist/keyboardist Garry Daly and guitarist Eddie Lundon. The band was signed to Virgin Records and recorded their debut album, Difficult Shapes & Passive Rhythms: Some People Think It's Fun To Entertain, which was released in December 1982.

A re-release of 'African & White' became China Crisis' first hit in the UK, reaching number 45 in the UK Singles Chart. When the follow-up single, 'Christian' made UK number 12 in early 1983, this brought them to national prominence along with 'Wishful Thinking'. The band toured Europe and USA during the late eighties and performed in front of crowds as large as 87,00 in Germany.
