A brand new night celebrating the very best in emerging talent.

Every week for the past eight or so years, we have been running our New Moon discovery nights. These nights offer up-and-coming artists from around the world the chance to perform on our stage and learn their craft whilst also allowing attendees to see undiscovered, raw talent.

We have hand-picked some of our favourite artists to perform to you on a Friday night - allowing as many people as possible to witness how much local talent pass through Grassroots Music Venues.

Line Up

The brand new sound of indie in a 4 piece sandwich. Melodic Melodies combined with endearing lyrics. This band will have you jumping and crying at the same time! Say hello to Super Swamp Jellyfish!

Described as a ‘Sun-Tinged Indie Quartet’, Paper Scenes are made up of Bav on Lead Vocals & Rhythm Guitar, Julian on Lead Guitar, Ted Lund on Bass & Jonah on Drums.

Originating from 4 Corners of the UK, but residing in Manchester, the band formed in a university accommodation kitchen in December 2021 following conversations over shared dreams about being in a band & making music.

London-based singer-songwriter Hazel Rose, whose roots span Turkey and Denmark, has been carving her place in the music world since 2022. Known for her evocative storytelling and unique approach to pop, Hazel made waves with her debut EP, 10,000ft, and continued to captivate listeners. October 2024 marked another milestone with the release of Soft Whispers in a Crowded Room.

Hazel isn’t just a singer-songwriter—she’s a creator of moments, crafting songs that mirror her personal challenges with unflinching honesty. Inspired by Billie Eilish, Harry Styles, Lizzie McAlpine, Fleetwood Mac, and Holly Humberstone, Hazel Rose blends influences into a fresh, evolving sound. Rejecting mainstream expectations, she prioritises authenticity over convention.

Her newest single, Meet You There, explores self-discovery and resilience. The track captures a dialogue between the narrator’s present and future selves, with the future self offering hope while the present struggles with doubt. Written during profound personal upheaval, Meet You There is a testament to growth through adversity. Rich in harmonies, the song evokes a Disney-like nostalgia. Featuring real drums, bass, and trumpets, it showcases Hazel’s commitment to organic music. Through Meet You There, Hazel Rose reminds listeners that even in darkness, hope and transformation await.
