A brand new night celebrating the very best in emerging talent.

Every week for the past eight or so years, we have been running our New Moon discovery nights. These nights offer up-and-coming artists from around the world the chance to perform on our stage and learn their craft whilst also allowing attendees to see undiscovered, raw talent.

We have hand-picked some of our favourite artists to perform to you on a Friday night - allowing as many people as possible to witness how much local talent pass through Grassroots Music Venues.

Line Up

ferb hail from the suburbs of South London and have been making waves thanks to their electrifying live shows, all before having a release under their belt. After a summer of relentless gigging they finally brought us singles ‘hello vera’ and ‘black sheep’, the first two songs written for the band, showcasing a familiar yet raw and refreshing brand of post-punk inspired by the early-mid 2000's revival scene. However they’re already showing sonic growth into a much bigger sound, paired with an emotive and passionate songwriting style highlighted in the new tracks they’ve been debuting live.

One of the highest regarded Rock and Roll bands to emerge from Cornwall, The Forty Fours take influence from traditional Blues and Merseybeat to create an energising live set of covers and original material. Now based in London and following the release of their first demo album, Fourplay, they look towards a resurgence in classic British Invasion music.

Display’s of vocal harmony, raw rhythm and blues instrumentation and passion are what have come to be the essence of The Forty Fours. Always coupled with authenticity and style.

Comprising of Oliver Harris (lead guitar and vocals), Jason Bazeley (Bass guitar and vocals), and Jay Grieve (drums), The Forty Fours are a group that must be experienced, live and on record.

London-based, Sri Lankan-originating producer, songwriter and vocalist GILSKA returns with the infectious and danable, edm-pop fizzer ‘Finish What You Started’ (October 11th). Having built a reputation for her pop-come-dance sound, Gilska has gained widespread acclaim for her House production and soaring vocals. ‘Finish What you Started’ continues the trend in style, layering swelling synths and Gilska’s radiant, emotive and angelic lead vocals over a punching, dance floor ready four to the floor beat. With moments of growling electronic bass and a soaring chorus vocal hook, the track captures an infectious commercial appeal whilst also

highlighting some spotless self-production.

Speaking about the meaning behind the single, Gilska explains: “‘Finish What You Started’ is a song about being the one to walk away from an endless cycle of toxic situations. It’s a reminder that reclaiming your power is as easy as walking away, realising that you’re still

in control.”

Starting with classical training before finding her niche in electronic pop, Gilska’s artistry has evolved into a soulful and hypnotic musical experience, rooted in dance undertones and

infectious pop melodies.

With support and acclaim across the likes of BBC Radio 1, BBC Asian Network, Rolling Stone India, Notion, Earmilk, Clash, DMY, Reprezent and Kiss FM, Gilska’s talent for pulling listeners into her intricate sonic world has seen her grow as an artist and build widespread support. With several high profile performances under her belt including at the Wembley stadium for Voice in a Million, Gilska has built a reputation as one to watch and a future star.
