Line Up

The Prior is an up-and-coming rock band based in Manchester. Inspired by folk, country and Americana, their eclectic music taste blends genres to create a new and unique sound, reminiscent of 70s rock.

Comprised of lead vocalist Ruby Cooke, lead guitarist and vocalist Will Joseph, rhythm guitarist Sophia Dooley, drummer Jago Forster, and bassist Ben Mockler.

Their artistic visions are driven by their predecessors, such as Fleetwood Mac and the Eagles. Their music explores the complexities of love, grief and life as a young person through the lens of several perspectives.

Founding members, Ruby Cooke and Will Joseph, met at the Royal Northern College of Music in late 2023 and quickly began planting the seeds for what would become The Prior. Their joint love for 70s rock led to a change in their writing style and the natural formation of The Prior. They swiftly recruited the rest of the band, who’s mutual love for the genre led to a dynamic and evolving creative environment.

Alicia Daydreams, a singer-songwriter and producer, began her journey at six, crafting melodies born from vivid imagination. From the haunting Maze (2022) to the soulful Remedy (2023) and the enchanting Mirror Mirror (2024), her music is a portal to dreamlike worlds.

Blending pop, jazz, R&B, indie, and rock, Alicia weaves a genre-defying soundscape that feels otherworldly. Self-produced and deeply authentic, her songs invite listeners to escape reality and explore the magic of emotion and imagination.

Connie Goodrich is a 19-year-old singer-songwriter making waves in the indie folk-pop scene. Inspired by the heartfelt storytelling of Olivia Dean and the vibrant energy of Echosmith, Connie crafts songs that blend introspective lyrics with captivating melodies. Connie released her debut single, Take Me to My Childhood, in December 2020, a heartfelt track that set the tone for her artistic vision. Connie's music explores themes of nostalgia, personal growth, and human connection, creating a relatable and immersive experience for her listeners. She is fuelled by her deep love for songwriting and performing.

Poppy Baker is one of the UK's most exciting young singer-songwriters. Poppy's unique jazz-infused songs straddle the blues, jazz and indie genres – with melodies that cut straight to the heart.

Poppy's impressively emotive and heartfelt vocal performances reveal a depth of emotional understanding beyond her young age. Whilst insightful lyrics demonstrate Poppy's ability to address any topic with sensitivity, her profound affection for ballads enhances her modern musical creations.

Poppy started playing classical piano at age six before studying violin, cello and singing. She wrote her first songs aged just thirteen and, as a teenager, sang not only in professional opera and musical theatre but also performed with progressive rock legend Rick Wakeman, Black Sabbath's Adam Wakeman and the late great Bernie Marsden from Whitesnake - before deciding to study vocals at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.

Poppy continues to create new music and has performed across the UK, including at the prestigious Cheltenham Jazz Festival and the Upton Blues Festival, and performs as a regular at Birmingham's Eastside Jazz Club and has toured Spain.

Poppy will be releasing her first EP soon and you can find Poppy Baker on all major social media platforms @poppybakermusic
