A brand new night celebrating the very best in emerging talent. Every week for the past eight or so years, we have been running our New Moon discovery nights. These nights offer up-and-coming artists from around the world the chance to perform on our stage and learn their craft whilst also allowing attendees to see undiscovered, raw talent.

We have hand-picked some of our favourite artists to perform to you on a Saturday night - allowing as many people as possible to witness how much local talent pass through Grassroots Music Venues.

Line Up

‘Man About a Dog’ are a Rock Band from West London, formed in 2022. Their anthemic sound consists of catchy guitar hooks, big choruses, belting vocals and punchy basslines. Often compared to the likes of Kings Of Leon, U2, The Killers, The Cult. Members include George Charlton (Lead Vocals/Guitar), Simeon Harris-Charlton (Backing Vocals/Guitar), Leon Harris-Charlton (Drums) and Jake Porter (Bass Guitar).

Magi Mojaxx are a London based 6-piece band. They combine catchy hooks and hard-hitting lyrics to create powerful music often drawing from their own experiences. The sound comes from an adolescence of moving from their parent’s rock/ska collection to discovering hip hop and later down the line more experimental jazz/blues guitarists and their techniques. This is one of many reasons they fail to stick to a single genre, often blending genres regularly throughout the course of a single song.

Magi Mojaxx formed whilst studying in Cardiff. Within a couple of months they started recording using the Cardiff Student Radio as a recording platform for acoustic covers of popular songs. Since then, they have enjoyed writing their own music both individually and collaboratively, having featured several times on BBC Introducing.

Their first self titled album was released in late 2023.

Marianne Leigh, an indie-pop artist based in London, honed her craft during her formative years in New Zealand. Her songs, heartfelt and confessional, capture the highs and lows of young adulthood with a blend of pop, indie, rock, and alternative influences.

Fans of Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, and Maisie Peters will connect with Marianne’s anthemic tunes and captivating vocals. Guided by mentors Jamie McDell and platinum artist Bic Runga, she has made notable appearances on New Zealand television.

After a successful headline tour in New Zealand, Marianne has returned to London’s vibrant music scene. Currently releasing a selection of her singles from her forthcoming EP, BBC Introducing picked up her May 2024 single, ‘ordinary’.

Singer, songwriter and South West Londoner TORANN is an R&B/POP artist from London UK. In his earlier career he gained experience working in the West End production ‘Thriller Live’ playing young Michael Jackson at the age of eleven. He toured around Scandinavia, Germany and the UK. He went to The BRIT School training in Musical Theatre so is a triple threat in Acting, Singing and Dance. He is now finishing his Degree in Popular Music Performance at BIMM London learning his craft as an artist.

TORANN has also appeared on a Disney commercial and has acted in the British series ‘Outnumbered’.

TORANN recently had a Show at the 02 Shepherds Bush Empire for his BIMM Graduation Showcase where he performed an Original track called ‘ What’s The Scene’. TORANN’s debut EP Heart Isn’t Honest / Pills & Potions was released on the 26th January 2024. Heart Isn’t Honest tells a story about a relationship being toxic. The song has lyrical metaphors such as “You look like an angel, but your heart isn’t honest, lust and affection but your soul is demonic.” It’s like meeting someone who is beautiful on the outside but ugly on the inside.

PILLS & POTIONS tells a story about reminiscing on a recent heartbreak and having a coping mechanism using drugs to numb the pain.

TORANN’s biggest fans are his mum and Olympic Silver Medalist older brother, JOE JOYCE.

TORANN’s latest single ‘Like I Do’ was released on Valentine's Day. Like I Do is an afrobeats track about love. It was released in collaboration with Chop Daily and had over 55k streams on Spotify. TORANN is now set to continue to carve what looks to be an exciting career ahead.
