Nik Rabinowitz - Live in London
Entry Requirements: 18+ after 7pm
Born in a converted stable on a farm outside Cape Town, renowned South African stand-up Nik Rabinowitz grew up climbing trees and commentating on his own rugby games in three of the country’s eleven official languages, later attending a Waldorf school, where he learned how to plant organic vegetables, express his feelings through interpretative dance, and crochet his own underpants.
Over the last twenty years, Rabinowitz has established himself as one of SA’s premium acts, touring extensively both locally and internationally, including UK performances at The Royal Albert Hall in Bafunny Bafunny, and on BBC 2’s Mock the Week. In addition to his comedic exploits, he’s unofficially recognised as the world’s leading isiXhosa-speaking Jewish leg-spinner of Lithuanian descent.
"What Johnny Clegg has done for popularising Zulu indlamu and maskandi with a broader audience - Nik Rabinowitz achieves for language… He paints a crazy, seductively irreverent, broad canvas of who we (South Africans) are, voetstoots. And that's totally ngca!" – The Star
