Love of the Common People – a night of music in support of Wimbledon and Putney Commons featuring The Unstables, YUBS, and The Tiger Moths.

The Unstables was formed in 2019 by Marcus, Chris, Luka and Peter who are riders and supporters of Wimbledon Village Stables. Following successful local gigs, and ahead of their first festival appearance this summer, The Unstables will be bringing their lively set of rock, pop and indie favourites to the Half Moon in a benefit gig for the Wimbledon and Putney Commons.

The Wimbledon and Putney Commons Conservators is the charity responsible for maintaining Wimbledon Common, Putney Heath and Putney Lower Common, and recently celebrated 150 years of conserving these amazing open spaces for the benefit of local people. Being able to access the Commons was particularly important during the Covid-19 pandemic, and this is an opportunity to thank the Conservators for their important work as well as having a great night out.

The Tiger Moths are a five-piece Americana inspired rock band from London. Heavily influenced by the late 60s/ early 70s folk-rock and country rock scenes, the Moths combine alt-country guitar runs, jazz-infused piano and a thundering rhythm section to forge a new and exciting twist on the Americana genre.

An established live act on the London scene, the band reached the Grand Final of the Isle of Wight Festival New Blood Competition in 2021 - making it to the last 20 acts from more than 5,000 who applied. With a couple of EPs already behind them, their debut full length album is due out in spring of 2022.

Formed from from the ashes of King of Spain and Erin Black and the Devil’s Hand. they are Rich Orpin (vocals, guitar, harmonica), Alex Rosenberg (piano, vocals), Tom Watson (bass, vocals), Dave Moschini (drums) and Tom Fleming (guitar). Check out their double A-side single (The Wind in Your Sails - You Really Don’t Know) to taste a slice of what’s in store on their debut album.
