Back To The Moon

Norda returns to The Half Moon Putney!

During 2010, Norda moved to London and it provided the inspiration and impetus for her to write and record her debut solo CD "Norda." Its 10 songs, 9 of them originals, reflect Norda's reflections on life from her vantage point as a world class musician. Recorded in her home town of Richmond Surrey "Norda" is a triumph of melody, passion and reflection featuring her trademark flute, keyboard ,guitars and crystalline vocals that recall Karen Carpenter at her most poignant. "Norda" marks Mullen's debut solo CD and reflects her eclectic range of styles - from classic rock to symphonic tones - a rich tapestry of musical influences including the Pretenders, Annie Lennox, Moody Blues, Randy Newman and Grandaddy.

Written and recorded in her new home town of Richmond, West London, UK, "Norda" features 10 original tracks that present the best of melodic pop/rock, but presented with some very innovative original arrangements. Her vocals recall a poignant Karen Carpenter, but her songwriting owes much to that of her musical heroes Annie Lennox, Chrissie Hynde and Peter Gabriel. Mullen plays Flutes, Recorder, Melodica, Pan Pipes, Guitars, and Keyboards, as well as handling all vocals on this stunning debut. Norda continues to create great music, releasing an EP with two tracks - ‘Give It Up’ and ‘Pray For You’ in 2018 and her latest single ‘Say It Anyway’ in 2020.
