Beth Keeping and friends

Join Beth Keeping and special guests for an intimate night of live music and storytelling.

Beth Keeping has built a reputation over the past year for her “pop stories”, her blend of country storytelling and pop soundscapes. Writing songs that speak into real situations, in 2020 she released music addressing everything from old flames to bullying, hard times and losing a loved one. Described as a “stunning display of masterful storytelling” by Earmilk, Beth is gearing up to begin a new chapter of music in Autumn 2021 with a fresh sound and a new EP.

Come hear the songs in their rawest form in a living room style gig featuring special guests from the Write Like A Girl initiative.

Acts start at 8.15pm

Line Up

Beth Keeping draws influences both from traditional country storytelling and modern pop music. Debuting at #3 on the iTunes singer-songwriter chart in 2018 with her EP 'Fool', Beth’s fresh lyrical approach and emotive vocals are building her a reputation as one to watch on the singer-songwriter scene. She is also a passionate supporter of other women in music and founded the 'Write Like A Girl' movement to put the spotlight back on female songwriters.

A Top 10 artist on the iTunes UK Country Chart and a BBC Introducing regular, Vic Allen blends an acoustic-driven sound with strong influences from modern country music. A rising name on the UK scene, performing at venues such as Bush Hall and Buckle and Boots Festival, Vic recently co-headlined the "Write Like a Girl" tour with Beth Keeping and Emily Faye, promoting women in music.

Although she grew up playing musical instruments, Vic first picked up the guitar as a teenager and, after a trip to America where she was inspired by the rich country music scene, she began songwriting. The States continue to be an important part of her musical development, having spent several of the last few months in Nashville, penning tracks with local songwriters and showcasing her material at venues such as The Bluebird Café and The Listening Room.

In February 2018, Vic independently released a fan-funded EP titled “Between The Lines", and shortly after signed to GingerDog Records to record her debut album. The first single, “Blinded”, reached No.9 in the iTunes UK Country Chart, and received airplay from Chris Country and various BBC stations. Her album is due for release in 2019.

Jess has also collaborated with Jonny Wright (Foxes, Becky Hill, Beth Rowley).

Jess Thristan released her debut single ‘Little Bird’ in October 2014 on Better Than Cake Records gaining fantastic support from Clare Balding at BBC Radio 2. Clare invited Jess to perform a live session on her Sunday morning radio show in October 2014. Jess has also enjoyed fantastic regional BBC support, especially from her home station BBC Radio Leeds (Johnny I’anson, Larry & Paul Show, Liz Green and Richard Stead).

The album is virtually completed and culminated in the recording of three titles with a 22 piece Orchestra at the famous Angel Recording Studios London. This included her cover ‘From Me To You' by The Beatles. Also the stunning song 'The Shield’ written by Jess at the tender age of 15. The end of 2015 saw the release of her new single ‘From Me To You’ which is a beautiful and completely new arrangement of the Beatles classic and set to touch the hearts of all who get to hear it, her influences include Nina Nesbit, The Beatles & Coldplay.

This Autumn will see the release of a new single and a tour across the UK to promote it.
