Half Moon presents:
+ Limb to Limb + The Blacklist + Emertia
Entry Requirements: 18+ after 7pm
Thursday 24th August see's four of London's best rock bands descend on the Half Moon.
Hailing from Dartford, The Alibi take inspiration from their bleak surroundings and write about what they describe as a black and white town under a sky of colours. A place that influences the industrial soundprint of their core sound, they write about what they see. Political observations, justice, the current social unrest - they create songs that matter about life as they see it and play them with passion and force....
... The Alibi are the exact dose of what the British music scene desperately needs right now.
This 3 piece rock band, came together in their local and in college, united by the mutual need to stand out... The band comprises of Harry Love (lead vocal and guitar), Elliot Frampton (Drums), Eddie Lovell (Lead Guitar).
Having learned how to play drums with pencils on the family sofa or pretending to be Angus Young they have refined their craft and now fill the room with attitude and full bodied rock songs that by far surpass the ability of their collective years - each barely just 19 years of age.
Having supported We Are Scientist and playing to a sold out crowd at KOKO and a familiar band face in Camden, there is no gig they can’t fill with their heavy drums and electric live performances.
With aspirations to play Wembley, Madison Square Gardens and another packed out KoKo - and generally follow in the hallowed footsteps of bands that have inspired them, such as The Beatles, Nirvana, Hendrix.
Limb to Limb
The overbearingly loud, untameable and sweaty beast that is Limb to Limb originally formed at a music college in West London in Spring 2014. Upon meeting, this terrifying trio of four immediately began to bond over a love of demonic riffs and suspect late night habits. Having played over 50 gigs in the past three years including a tour in Italy, these horrible human beings have honed their sound into an excessively violent vortex of distorted groove. Often residing in various dungeon-esque underground rooms scattered throughout the UK’s capital, you can figure out where Limb to Limb are by the trail of destruction and fear in in their wake by the pop peasants of today’s society.
The Blacklist formed in early 2016 after meeting during the fresher’s week at university in London, where they are all studying music. Following a couple of line-up changes during the first year, they are Oskar (Vocals), Marco (Bass), Josh (Drums), Kim (Guitar/Synths) and Huw (Guitar). After performing two of the tracks from their upcoming EP at the O2 Academy, Islington and the O2 Forum, Kentish Town.
With a shared love of hard rock music, the band was quickly formed with the vision of creating something fresh and exciting. From there, the focus then fell on merging together their heavier influences with a more modern, electronic sound.
Since having performed at the O2 venues in Spring 2016, work then began on writing songs throughout the rest of the year for their debut release. With the finished product getting ever closer, they are getting excited to tour and promote the EP this summer and autumn.
Alexandra sailed across vast oceans in search of likeminded people to join forces with. She happened upon two handsome, young Welshmen that understood her vision to create a new sound and vowed to help her achieve her goal.
From influences such as Pantera, A Perfect Circle and Nine Inch Nails comes Emertia with a unique groovacious aggression for a guaranteed headbanging experience.
