Craig Sellar is a London based drummer, percussionist, programmer and educator. A proven professsional in all of these areas, Craig has the experience, knowledge and equipment to cater to any musical situation; from pop gigs and function work to theatre shows and recording sessions.
Despite his young age of 21, Craig has been involved with many different bands and artists. Most notably was Sasy Mankan, an underground Iranian artist, for BBC Persian. He has played percussion in the house band at the Ronnie Scott's W3 jam night alongside Phil Simmonds (Jessie J), Tom Hill (Rita Ora) and Luke Harris (Trickie). In 2015 Craig joined Fully FunKtional - a top UK function band playing 80 gigs a year at top venues up and down the country including Ascot racecourse.
After emigrating to Spain in 2004, Craig met drummer Ian Green (Fame) and that's where his musical career began. Starting off in school bands, it wasn't long before Craig was playing professionally at the age of 16 for world-renowned blues guitarist, Mama Paula. In between gigs with Mama Paula, Craig was playing percussion in Seussical The Musical at the Sotogrande Theatre, functions with the Marbella Big Band and gigging every week with local cover bands.
In 2013, Craig moved back to London to further his music education at Tech Music School where he studied with top industry professionals such as Erik Stams, Adam Betts, Sebastiaan de Krom and Pat Davey.
Fast rising through the ranks of the UK music scene, Pacific are one of the most hotly tipped acts of the moment. This fresh and alternative indie band has already been picking up big props from the likes of Mark Radcliffe on BBC 6 Music and have had big success with their earliest releases. These include the piano led EP What Are You Waiting For, which was jam packed with powerful songs and big melodies. It came off the back of their big hitting ‘Time to Forget’ single, another forceful call to action that immediately stood the band out from the crowd. That impressive single led to their first ever airing on BBC Radio 1 when Huw Stephens picked it up, before eighty more stations also got in on the action.
